Quilt Camp at Camp Tecumseh

We had a quilt camp at Camp Tecumseh this past weekend. I made this variation on the Irish Chain for the wedding gift for Leon and Carol's son. The finished size of this quilt will be 65 inches by 85 inches - so it's a throw for the couch. Next I am off to find backing fabric for it. Here's an overview picture:

Here are a couple of closer shots to see the pattern in the fabric and the design of the piecing.

Camp Tecumseh is a YMCA camp about 30 minutes from West Lafayette - it is a really nice facility that we are very fortunate to have in our area. Several times each year they hold quilt camp - where quilters arrive from all over with their sewing machines and quilting supplies for a few days of quilting. This camp we had extra "excitement" on Saturday evening just as we were having dinner. A storm went through the area that brought very strong winds and took the power out. Of course we all thought that the power company would get the power fixed right away - but that was not to be. When we got up Sunday morning there was still no electricity. Our quilting time was cut short - and instead of sewing at camp on Sunday I packed up and came home where the electricity was working so I could get this top finished.
